About Me.

Adi Schwarz
Choreographer & Dancer

Dancer

My journey as a dancer began in the cozy confines of my living room, where I twirled and leaped for an audience of two—my parents. Their encouragement lit a spark in me that grew brighter as I attended "Reut" High School for Arts in Haifa. Under the inspiring guidance of Michal Bardas and Racheli Shapira, my passion for dance was nurtured and refined.

The next step of my journey led me to the prestigious "Batsheva Dance Company Ensemble." For three transformative years, I had the honor of working with some of the most innovative and renowned choreographers in the world. Dancing under the direction of Ohad Naharin, Bobby Jean Smith, Or Shraiber, Hillel Kogan, and Nurit Dreamer, I immersed myself in the unique and powerful language of movement they each brought to life.

Among the highlights of my time at Batsheva was participating in "Batsheva Dancers Create." This opportunity allowed me to collaborate with and perform pieces by talented choreographers like Ohad Mazor, Maya Botzer Simhon, Gili Yaniv, and Yarden Bareket. Each performance was a chance to explore new dimensions of my artistry and connect with audiences on a profound level.

From my living room beginnings to the illustrious stages of Batsheva, my dance journey is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the unyielding support of those who believed in me. Every step, every leap, and every performance is a piece of my heart, shared with the world through the universal language of dance.

Choreographer

For me, dancing and creating have always been intertwined, two sides of the same coin. From the very beginning, every movement I performed sparked ideas for new pieces, each dance an exploration of both body and imagination. However, it was through the "Batsheva Dancers Create" platform that I began my professional journey as a choreographer, translating my visions into tangible works of art.

This incredible platform provided me the space and support to bring my concepts to life. Among my creations are:

A Short Game in the Playground That's Above My Neighbor's House:

This piece captures the whimsical and nostalgic essence of childhood play  with the complexities of growing up.

Gregor Samsa:

Inspired by Kafka's enigmatic character, this work delves into themes of transformation and alienation, exploring the human condition through evocative and thought-provoking movements.

Tia the Alien:

In this piece, I ventured into the realm of the fantastical, imagining the world through the eyes of an extraterrestrial being named Tia. It’s a dance that pushes the boundaries of creativity and invites audiences to embrace the unknown.

Each creation is a piece of my soul, a reflection of my journey and growth as both a dancer and a choreographer. Through these works, I aim to connect with audiences, evoke emotions, and inspire thoughts, continuing to explore the boundless possibilities of dance and creation.
